Dr. David Mittelman

has devoted his professional life to the care of children with a variety of eye disorders and adults with strabismus. Dr. Mittelman is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He completed a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, followed by a fellowship in ocular motility. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and one of the first Members of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and has received an Honor Award from that organization.  He has written dozens of scientific articles concerning pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus and contributed several chapters in medical textbooks.  Dr. Mittelman, a Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, has taught residents at UIC Eye Center, Children's Memorial Hospital, Cook County Hospital and Loyola University. He is currently director of Adult Strabismus at Rush University.
